Meet Scott Forrester
Scott Forrester is a Primary Therapist at APN Denver and a member of the Clinical Team and Detox & Assessment Center Team. With more than a decade of experience in behavioral health and addiction recovery, Scott is known for his compassionate, thoughtful approach to therapy and his commitment to helping individuals build meaningful, lasting change.
Scott specializes in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, dual diagnosis, PTSD, ADHD, and identity-related challenges. His work is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for each client’s unique story. By creating a supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment, Scott helps individuals and families explore challenges, develop new perspectives, and move toward sustainable healing.
Background and Education
Scott holds a master’s degree in Community Counseling and is dually licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC). His clinical experience spans a variety of treatment settings, including inpatient and outpatient programs, where he has provided individual, group, and family therapy while collaborating with multidisciplinary care teams.
In addition to direct clinical care, Scott has developed and implemented treatment curricula and supervised clinical interns, reflecting his dedication to advancing quality care within the behavioral health field. He is also trained in Brainspotting Level 1 trauma therapy and incorporates evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and narrative therapy into his work. This integrative approach allows Scott to tailor treatment to each client’s goals, experiences, and path toward recovery.
Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and their dog, Ellie. Whether exploring the outdoors or relaxing at home, he values the balance and connection that time with family provides.
