UNDERSTANDING PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION PROGRAMMING (PHP)

Receive High-Acuity Care While Maintaining Your Independence

A Partial Hospitalization Program, frequently referred to as day treatment, is a highly structured, intensive level of outpatient care for individuals navigating substance use disorders and addiction.

In our Dallas-Fort Worth PHP, you will attend comprehensive clinical programming at our state-of-the-art facility for approximately five to six hours a day, five days a week. It is the ideal “step-down” level of care for individuals transitioning out of a 24/7 residential or inpatient facility who still require significant daily support to prevent relapse. Conversely, it serves as an excellent “step-up” intervention for those who are struggling to maintain their recovery in a standard Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and need immediate, robust stabilization.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE ISSUES ADDRESSED

At APN Dallas-Fort Worth, we treat individuals struggling with addiction to various substances, including alcohol, opioids, stimulants, and prescription misuse, as well as co-occurring mental health disorders. We design each treatment program to reduce cravings, prevent relapse, and restore functioning.

APN offers detox and residential options when needed, then transitions clients to our PHP or IOP to maintain recovery momentum. Peer support, family engagement, and wellness practices reinforce recovery.

Through coordinated behavioral health care, we help clients rebuild routines, strengthen sober supports, and reconnect with purpose. Evidence-based therapy, combined with medical oversight, creates a healing environment that sustains progress.

WHY CHOOSE ALL POINTS NORTH FOR PHP IN DALLAS-FORT WORTH?

Choose our Dallas-Fort Worth treatment center for integrity, innovation, and results.

WHOLE-PERSON TREATMENT

We treat the mind, the body, and the spirit together – not a one-size-fits-all treatment model that solely focuses on isolated symptoms. We understand that emotional recovery demands physical restoration, which is why our programming incorporates holistic wellness and somatic healing.

EXPERT CLINICAL TEAM

Highly credentialed experts direct your care. You will work with board-certified psychiatrists, licensed therapists who specialize in addiction.

CONVENIENT DFW LOCATION

Located conveniently just 30 minutes from DFW airport, our facility provides easy, direct access for residents commuting from Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, and Irving.

SEAMLESS STEP-DOWN CARE

We offer a complete continuum of care. As you heal, you can transition smoothly from PHP to our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or standard outpatient therapy without ever having to switch facilities or start over with a new clinical team.

DUAL-DIAGNOSIS EXPERTISE

We do not make you choose between treating your addiction and treating your mental health. We address the chemical dependency and the underlying psychological distress simultaneously for lasting, sustainable recovery.

When you are ready to get help, you should not be placed on a waiting list. We move fast. In many cases, we can facilitate same-day or next-day admissions to get you into programming immediately.

DOES INSURANCE COVER PHP TREATMENT IN TEXAS?

Under the Texas Mental Health Parity Law, your health insurance provider is legally required to cover mental health and substance use disorder treatments at the exact same level as physical health treatments. This means that if your plan covers hospital visits for a physical illness, it must provide equitable coverage for intensive behavioral health programs, such as PHP.

All Points North proudly works with most major insurance carriers to help more people access our premier level of care.

We handle insurance verification so you don’t have to. Our dedicated admissions team will complete a full verification of your benefits at no cost to you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PHP IN DALLAS FORT WORTH

What is the difference between PHP and IOP?

Partial Hospitalization (PHP) offers a higher level of care. Intensive Outpatient (IOP) is a step-down program that involves fewer hours. This schedule gives people more flexibility to return to work or school part-time.

How long does a Partial Hospitalization Program last?

Everyone heals differently. The length of your stay in our DFW PHP depends on your progress, stability, and treatment goals. Most people spend about 4 to 6 weeks in PHP before moving to an Intensive Outpatient Program.

Do I have to stay overnight at your DFW facility?

No, you do not need to stay overnight. With PHP, you attend therapy during the day at our Dallas-Fort Worth facility and return home or to a sober living residence each evening, unlike residential or inpatient treatment.

How much does PHP treatment cost in Texas?

The cost of PHP depends on your health insurance, deductible, and out-of-pocket maximums. Because we accept most major insurance plans, many clients find that much of their treatment is covered. We check your insurance benefits for free before you enroll, so you know what to expect.

Will my insurance cover Partial Hospitalization in Dallas-Fort Worth?

The Texas Mental Health Parity Law requires major insurance providers to cover behavioral health treatments, including PHP, at the same level as medical and surgical care.

What conditions does APN’s PHP program treat?

We treat substance use disorders, including problems with alcohol, opioids, stimulants, and other substances.

Can I work or care for my family while in a PHP program?

PHP takes about 5 to 6 hours each weekday, so it is usually not possible to work full-time during program hours. Many clients use FMLA or short-term disability to keep their jobs while in PHP. You can still spend evenings with your family and keep up with your usual routines at home.

What happens after I complete PHP? Is there continued care?

Recovery takes time. After you finish PHP, we help you transition into our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or regular outpatient therapy. This way, you continue to get support as you return to work and daily life.

How do I know if PHP is the right level of care for me?

If you are medically stable and safe to be at home overnight, but your symptoms are too much for weekly therapy alone, PHP might be a good fit. Our admissions team will provide a free, thorough assessment to make sure this is the best option for you.

Is APN’s PHP program Joint Commission-accredited?

Yes. All Points North holds the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission, which is the highest standard for safety and quality in healthcare.

Did You Know?

Untreated mental health conditions can significantly increase the risk of developing substance use disorders. Many individuals may turn to alcohol or drugs as a means of self-medication to cope with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, or trauma. This cycle can lead to a worsening of both mental health disorders and substance use, making recovery increasingly difficult. Comprehensive mental health care is essential for breaking this cycle and achieving lasting recovery.
