The APN Intensive Outpatient Program is a virtual IOP-level program for individuals who have experienced substance dependence, mental health challenges, overwhelming stress, and emotional dysregulation. The intensive groups and individual therapy in this program are tailored to those who are able to participate in life but often find themselves struggling with repetitive thought patterns and dysfunctional habits.
Clients participate in 3-hour sessions, three days per week, while continuing to engage in work, school, and daily life. Treatment focuses on building stability, resilience, and practical skills for lasting change. Weekly individual therapy (one hour) is offered as part of care. We offer three primary tracks for our IOP Cohorts.
The result is an integrative IOP designed to guide clients through processing the past and learning how to move forward with tangible skills and tools.

GET MORE INFOWHAT IS VIRTUAL IOP AT APN?
BRINGING TREATMENT TO YOU, WHEREVER YOU ARE.
Our virtual IOP is a structured, trauma-informed intensive outpatient program for individuals managing substance dependence, mental health challenges, overwhelming stress, emotional dysregulation, or co-occurring conditions.
You’ll participate in three 3-hour group meetings per week, plus a weekly one-on-one therapy session. All sessions are live, interactive, and led by licensed therapists and professional facilitators who specialize in addiction, trauma, and whole-person recovery.
All Points North goes beyond the typical online therapy program to provide the same high-quality, whole-person care as in our in-person programs. The focus is on helping you understand what you’ve been through, how it still affects you, and giving you real tools to move forward with more confidence and freedom.
IS VIRTUAL TREATMENT REALLY EFFECTIVE?
You might have heard that virtual care is just a lighter version of real treatment, but that’s not true. Research shows that for most mental health and substance use challenges, telehealth outcomes are statistically comparable to in-person care when the clinical curriculum is solid and evidence-based (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration [SAMHSA], 2021).
At APN, our virtual IOP isn’t something you just watch or sit through: it’s active, engaging, and built to give you real support and structure every step of the way. APN virtual IOPs are fully structured, clinically rigorous, and outcome-driven for an integrative treatment experience that helps clients both process the past and build the skills needed for sustainable change.
DOES INSURANCE COVER VIRTUAL IOP?
Yes, most major PPO insurance plans cover online IOP the same way they cover in-person treatment. If you need structured support to manage symptoms or prevent relapse, you may qualify. If you’re unsure about your coverage, our admissions team can check your benefits for you and walk you through what’s included.
The APN Pathways
WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
“Through APN, I was finally able to dig deep and stop performing for everyone else. My therapist helped me unpack the grief, people-pleasing, and shame that had been driving me for years, while our process group built real connection and camaraderie, even virtually. For the first time, I felt truly known, supported, and able to address both my mental health and recovery in a meaningful way.”

YOUR FULL CONTINUUM OF CARE
Detox → Residential/PHP → Virtual IOP → Outpatient therapy/support groups → Long-term alumni connection
Virtual IOP is just one part of the care we offer at APN. We also provide detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, and ongoing outpatient support.
As your needs change, you can move up or down in care without having to start over or lose the progress you’ve already made. This flexibility means your recovery can grow with you, every step of the way.
Staying connected to care over time is one of the best ways to build a strong foundation for lasting recovery. Think of it as giving yourself the support you need, whenever you need it most.
