Meet Emily Higginbotham

Emily Higginbotham is the Clinical Manager for All Points North’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Edwards, Colorado. Originally from Texas, Emily brings a wealth of experience and a passion for mental health and substance use recovery to her role at APN. Her journey in the mental health field began in 2015, and she has been working as a licensed therapist since 2019.

Emily holds clinical social work licenses in both Texas and Colorado, and her extensive experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of complex mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, borderline personality disorder, and more. She also specializes in trauma and PTSD recovery.

Emily’s therapeutic approach is rooted in Jungian or analytical psychology, which focuses on helping individuals achieve balance by examining how their unconscious mind influences their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She works with her clients to develop a deeper understanding of their choices, behaviors, and thinking patterns, guiding them toward creating stability, fostering healthy habits, and forming empowering relationships with themselves and others.

Personal experiences have fueled Emily’s empathy and dedication to her work, particularly her upbringing as a child of a parent in active addiction. Seeing her mother reach recovery and helping her clients find healing inspires her every day. Emily’s philosophy is centered on the need for compassion, understanding, and empathy in the therapeutic process. She believes that while one does not need to live through an experience to understand it, seeking to understand it is essential – and that begins with exploring one’s own humanity.
