Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is a non-invasive technology that can bring life-changing relief from various mind-body conditions, even if you have not seen results with medication in the past. Each session lasts about 20 minutes with no recovery time needed before returning to your daily activities.
Deep TMS is an FDA-approved treatment for those suffering from treatment-resistant depression, anxious depression, smoking cessation, OCD.
Little to No Side Effects
Relatively minimal side effects for most people, typically limited to a brief headache that resolves after treatment.
Quick Daily Sessions
Each session lasts about 20 minutes so you can get treated and get back to your day. Treatment plans usually range from 5-8 weeks.
Non-Invasive
Deep TMS sends magnetic pulses to your brain through a helmet that sits on your head, no pricking or prodding involved.
Evidence-Based
Deep TMS is well-proven and FDA-approved for OCD, depression, anxious depression, late life depression, and smoking cessation with more conditions in the research phase.
HOW DOES DEEP TMS WORK?
Electromagnetic pulses stimulate dormant neurons in targeted brain areas involved in mood disorders and impulse control. Restoring these connections supports the brain’s ability to self-regulate and return to balance.
WHAT DOES DEEP TMS TREAT?
FDA-Cleared Indications:
- Treatment-resistant depression
- Anxious depression
- Smoking cessation
- OCD
Off-Label Indications:
- Insomnia
- PTSD
- Addiction
MEET THE DEEP TMS TEAM
The Plus team at All Points North spans across multiple locations to offer deep TMS in Edwards, Boulder, and Denver, Colorado. Each provider is trained and certified in their particular modality to provide skilled care and answer your questions. In this video, Kelsey walks you through TMS and what to expect from the therapy modality at APN.
CONTACT USDEEP TMS TREATMENT EXPERIENCE
Deep TMS sessions are safe, quick, effective, and generally well tolerated. At All Points North, a Deep TMS technician will oversee each session and answer any questions you might have before, during, and after the treatment. The number of sessions can vary, but you can expect each session to last about 20 minutes, with the initial consultation and brain mapping taking 60-90 minutes.
A DEEP TMS SUCCESS STORY
Meet Pierre, a former client at All Points North who was eligible for Deep TMS treatment for anxiety and depression. When Pierre first arrived, he didn’t realize Deep TMS was available, but his experience compelled him to talk about it with others because of the positive results he achieved.
MEET PIERREWHAT TO EXPECT DURING DEEP TMS
- During each session, you’ll relax in a chair for up to 25 minutes.
- The dTMS helmet will deliver pulses that may feel like light tapping on the scalp.
- Because deep TMS is noninvasive, most clients resume normal activities immediately.
- Mild, non-systemic side effects (such as headache or scalp discomfort) may occur early on.
Accelerated Deep TMS
Now Available
Accelerated deep transcranial magnetic stimulation (deep TMS) is an advanced neurostimulation therapy that targets brain regions associated with depression. This FDA-cleared protocol condenses a traditional 6-week treatment course into a highly efficient, rapid format – without compromising outcomes.
- Symptom relief often begins within 3-5 days
- Remission achieved ~7 days faster than standard protocols
- 87.8% response rate and 78.0% remission rate in clinical trials
- Comparable effectiveness to traditional TMS with faster results
- Shorter sessions: ~10 minutes per session with Accelerated (SWIFT) protocol vs. ~20 minutes with standard deep TMS
- Complete acute treatment in 6 days vs. 6 weeks
- FDA clearance received September 2025

Explore the APN PathwaysTHE RESEARCH ON DEEP TMS
Deep TMS has been tested in over 60 clinical studies for various indications in leading institutions all over the world, and it is FDA-approved for the clinical treatment of Major Depressive Disorder, OCD, anxious depression, and smoking cessation. Currently, Deep TMS is available in the US, Europe, and South America. Over 15,000 clients have been treated with BrainsWay Deep TMS already, and the research on its impact and conditions continues to grow.
DEEP TMS FOR DEPRESSION
Deep TMS is a non-invasive and convenient treatment option for those struggling with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Studies have shown the treatment to be effective for clients with depression, no matter how many medications have been tried or how many medications didn’t work. In fact, Deep TMS is often said to be effective for those with medication-resistant depression.
In real-life clinical settings, Deep TMS was proven to be effective for 3 out of 4 major depression clients with a 51% remission rate and a 75% response rate.
DEEP TMS FOR OCD
In addition to Deep TMS’s success for depression treatment, the FDA has also approved a Brainsway TMS helmet for treatment-resistant OCD. A real-life setting study in the Journal of Psychiatric Research found that over 70% of study clients experienced at least a 30% reduction in OCD symptom severity after 18.5 sessions. After 20 sessions, about 50% of study clients maintained that 30% or more severity reduction for a sustained period of time. In another study from the American Journal of Psychiatry, 54.8% of patients achieved at least a 20% reduction in symptom severity after six weeks of treatment.
DEEP TMS FOR SMOKING CESSATION
Deep TMS is the first and only FDA-approved non-invasive medical device for the treatment of smoking addiction. A study completed by BrainsWay showed that 28% of Deep TMS clients sustained abstinence from smoking for at least 4 consecutive weeks as compared to only 11.7% of control group clients. This study was double-blind, multi-center, and conducted with patients who had a 26-year smoking history. Deep TMS for smoking has been found to be well-tolerated for most clients.
