Beyond the Bench:

Dr. Robertson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Auburn University and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Regent University. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Colorado, Florida, and Mississippi and is a PSYPACT participant. She is also trained in EMDR and the integration of EMDR therapy into clinical practice.

With experience in behavioral health dating to 2007, Dr. Robertson has worked across a range of clinical environments, including treatment centers, private practice and consulting, community service organizations, charitable organizations, and correctional settings. Her areas of specialization include substance use disorders, professionals and executives, trauma, and co-occurring mental health concerns.

At APN, Dr. Robertson focuses on continually strengthening the treatment experience and clinical outcomes for professionals navigating complex behavioral health concerns. Her approach emphasizes trauma-informed care and addressing underlying experiences and beliefs that can contribute to maladaptive patterns, helping clients pursue meaningful, sustainable change aligned with their individual goals.

Dr. Finlayson earned his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario and completed his psychiatric residency at McMaster University, where he served as Chief Resident. He later completed fellowship training in addiction medicine and earned a Master of Management in Health Care from Vanderbilt University’s Owen School of Management.

At Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Dr. Finlayson served as Medical Director of the Vanderbilt Comprehensive Assessment Program for Professionals for more than 20 years and previously led the Center for Professional Excellence and Vanderbilt Faculty and Physician Wellness Program. He was also the founding Training Director of Vanderbilt’s Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program. His work has focused extensively on comprehensive professional assessment, physician health, fitness-for-duty evaluations, addiction, professional behavior, and boundary concerns.

Dr. Finlayson has contributed extensively to research and education in physician health and addiction medicine, authoring numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on topics including physician fitness for duty, professional sexual misconduct, substance use disorders, physician health programs, and professional well-being. He has presented on these topics for organizations including the Federation of State Physician Health Programs and the American Psychiatric Association and continues to teach medical students, residents, and addiction medicine and addiction psychiatry fellows at Vanderbilt.

His career has also included clinical and consulting work with professional athletes, including service as a consultant to the National Basketball Association and as a treating psychiatrist for the National Football League and Major League Baseball.

Dr. Hemphill earned both his master’s and doctoral degrees from Tulane University. He has faculty appointments at LSU Health Science-Dept of Psychiatry since 2000 and Tulane University, School of Social Work since 2001.

Since 2003, he has specialized in the assessment and treatment of professionals experiencing addiction, personality disorders, and behavioral concerns. Under his leadership, programs have assessed or treated approximately 3,000 professionals by providing services ranging from comprehensive professional evaluations with fitness-for-duty recommendations to full continuum of care, including workplace re-entry, longitudinal monitoring, and professional reintegration.

Dr. Hemphill has particular expertise in disruptive professional behavior and pioneered approaches to its assessment, treatment, and monitoring. His work included validating the Disruptive Behavior Index (DBI) and co-authoring Taming Disruptive Behavior, published by the American College of Physician Executives in 2013. His second book, Integrated Care in Addiction Treatment, was published by Routledge in 2021.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hemphill has presented nationally and published research on addiction, trauma, personality disorders, professional behavior, and integrated care. His work combines clinical practice, research, education, and organizational leadership with a longstanding focus on helping professionals navigate complex behavioral health concerns and successfully return to their careers.

Michael earned his Master of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver and holds multiple professional credentials, including Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Addictions Counselor, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, Certified Internal Family Systems Therapist, and Acudetox Specialist. He is also a Natural Medicine Facilitator in Training.

Michael began his behavioral health career as an overnight technician and progressed through roles including case manager, therapist, clinical director, executive director, and chief clinical officer. Prior to joining APN, he served as Director of Outpatient Services for Meadows Behavioral Healthcare – Denver, where he led daily operations and oversaw client care and experience. Michael initially joined APN as Executive Director of the Front Range before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer.

His clinical experience includes work with substance use disorders, trauma, and depression, and he remains passionate about individualized care that addresses the underlying challenges contributing to behavioral health concerns. Drawing from a broad range of clinical modalities and techniques, Michael focuses on helping individuals develop healthier coping strategies, build greater acceptance and understanding, and create meaningful, sustainable change.

Michael’s commitment to behavioral health is also informed by his own experience with recovery from addiction and trauma, which inspired him to enter the field and help others access the kind of transformative support that played an important role in his own life.

Dr. Rosman earned his medical degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa and completed psychiatry residency training at McMaster University in Canada and University Hospitals of Cleveland. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Rosman holds Specialist Certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is board-certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has also earned subspecialty board certifications in Addiction Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Sleep Medicine.

Throughout his career, Dr. Rosman has held faculty appointments at Case Western Reserve University, the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, and the University of Colorado Denver. He has lived and practiced in Colorado since 2007.

Dr. Rosman approaches psychiatric care with an emphasis on treating the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptom relief. He is also the author of The Art of Joyful Living: A Practical Guide to Happiness, reflecting his broader interest in helping individuals pursue greater well-being and fulfillment in their lives.

Tami earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services, a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and a PhD in Business Management and Leadership from the University of Phoenix. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor as well as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and Certified Change Management Specialist. Her additional training includes Psychosomatic Experience, EMDR, Auricular Therapy, and Craniosacral Therapy.

Tami specializes in developmental and complex trauma, with a particular focus on understanding the internal and external systems that influence well-being. Her clinical approach combines compassion and curiosity, helping clients explore how past experiences have shaped their lives while developing new ways of relating to themselves, others, and the world around them.

During her time at APN, Tami has also overseen the Professional Athlete Program and helped further integrate individualized and family-focused care into the participant experience. Across her clinical and operational work, she remains focused on developing thoughtful, innovative programming that supports each client’s individual treatment journey.
